The New Creation of God (Revelation 21)

Revelation 21

Title: “The New Creation of God”
Theme: The New Heaven, The New Earth, The New Jerusalem
Text: “And He that sat upon the Throne said, Behold, I make all things new.”  (Revelation 21:5)

I. The New Sights and Sounds of Eternity (v.1-8)
   A. And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
        1. For the first heaven…was passed away
               2. For the first earth…was passed away
        3. And there was no more sea
   B. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem
               1. Coming down from God out of heaven
               2. As a bride adorned for her husband
   C. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying
               1. Behold the tabernacle of God is with men
               2. And He will dwell with them
               3. And they shall be His people
               4. And God Himself shall be with them and be their God
               5. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes
               6. And there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain
               7. For the former things are passed away.
   D. And He that sat upon the Throne said:
1.       Behold, I make all things new
2.       And He said unto me, Write: for these Words are true and faithful
3.       And He said unto me, It is done.
4.       I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
5.       I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
6.       He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall by My son.
7.       But…shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone which is the second death
a.       The fearful
b.       The unbelieving
c.        The abominable
d.       The murderers
e.        The whore-mongers
f.        The sorcerers
g.        The idolaters
h.       All liars
II. And there came unto me one of the Seven Angels which had the Seven Vials full of the Seven Last Plagues saying,
Come hither, I will show thee the Bride, the Lamb’s wife: (v.9-21)
A.      And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me:
1.       That great city the holy Jerusalem
2.       Descending out of heaven from God
3.       Having the glory of God
4.       And her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal
5.       And had a wall great and high…twelve gates…twelve angels…names written thereon…names/twelve tribes…
6.       On the east three gates…on the north three gates…on the south three gates and on the west three gates
7.       And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve Apostles
B.      And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof
1.       And the city lies foursquare…
2.       And he measured the wall thereof and the building of the wall…
3.       And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones…
4.       And the twelve gates were twelve pearls…
III. And I saw no Temple therein for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the Temple of it (v.22-27)
A.      And the city had no need of the sun…for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the Light thereof
B.      And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the Light of it…
C.      And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there
D.      And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it
E.       And there shall no wise enter into it any thing that defiles, neither works abomination, or makes a lie
F.       But they which are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
